The Insight (2015)

Since entering sustainability through LED lighting in 2008, I repeatedly saw the same critical misstep: Greentech teams, armed with strong technology, spread their resources too thin by expanding into new markets before capturing their home market. Strategy execution became scattered, sales cycles stretched too long, and founders bore excessive risk—often causing promising startups to implode or fade quietly away.

We built Slate Strategies to close this gap, creating disciplined, repeatable business-development systems. Our mission was clear from the start: help the founders and teams we respected deeply to dominate their home markets first, build tangible momentum, and then scale sustainably—achieving lasting market presence and delivering the impact they envisioned.

While leading a project in Costa Rica, we joined local conservation efforts restoring coastal wetlands.
